About 20 years ago, looking for a retreat from the city and careers, we bought our first home in the Napa Valley and planted our first Chardonnay vineyard. After that fruit immediately produced wine with stratospheric ratings, we acquired a much larger vineyard close by, rewarded with exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir and some more Chardonnay.
In 2007, we found our dream property –42 acres on Atlas Peak. We immediately began a planting program, primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as some Petit Verdot and Merlot for blending capability. The 1350 foot elevation, along with rocky volcanic soil and southwestern sun exposure, make ideal conditions for superlative wine.
We sell the majority of our fruit to top wineries like Lewis and Mumm, but keep back select fruit for our “Lobo” label. “Lobo,” of course, is Spanish for “wolf.”
All of our wines are 100% estate grown from single vineyards. Every vintage released is a limited production, and has sold out.
Victoria Coleman, a rising star in Napa after a stint at Chateau Mouton Rothschild, crafts our Rose, Pinot Noir, Syrah driven red blendand two Cabernet Sauvignons at The Caves At Soda Canyon. These wines always receive superlative reviews ansd scores in the 90’s.
Our Chardonnay is made by renowned Napa winemaker, Randy Lewis. In June, 2013, the 2011 Chardonnay was awarded the Chairman’s Trophy at the Ultimate Wine Challenge in New York as the “best of the best” and number one wine among Chardonnays from all over the world. The 2015 vintage was called a “showstopper” by wine enthusiast.”
